Mamidikaya Pulihara



We Need:

Rice 2 cups
Raw Mango 1
Green chillies 6
Red chillies 3
Cashewnuts 10
Peanuts 15
Mustard seeds 1/2 sp
Cumin seeds 1/2 sp
Chana Dal 1 1/2 sp
Curry leaves 10
Cilantro 1/2 cup
Haldi 1/2 sp
Salt to Taste
Oil 1/4 cup

Method:


Cook rice and keep aside.
In a large pan heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they crackle add cumin seeds, chana dal, curry leaves,red chilli, green chilli, cashew nuts, peanuts.
Saute for few minutes and add grated mango.

Now add cooked rice, haldi and salt.
Mix throughly and garnish with cilantro.
This serves upto 3 people.


Tip:


Take very tangy mangos. If the mango is not tangy the rice dosent taste good because pulihara means tangy rice. If the mango is not that much tangy u can use 1 more mango.
