Sago Upma

Today is the second day of blogging marathon, and wanted to make something with sago(saggubiyyam). Its healthy and heavy breakfast. Its very simple, easy and fast to make.
Here goes the recipe.....

We need:

Sago 1cup
Onion chooped 1/4cup
Carrot chopped 1/4cup
Potato chopped 1/4cup
Peanuts 1/4cup
Udad dal 1/2spoon
Mustard seeds 1/2spoon
Chana dal 1/2 spoon
Jeera 1/2spoon
Red chilli 1/2 spoon
Green chilli chopped 1
Cilantro chopped 1/2spoon
Oil 2spoons

For powder:

Dhaliya 1/2 cup
Garlic 2cloves
Red chilli powder 1sp
Salt to taste

Method:

Soak sago over night in water.
Heat oil in pan add jeera, mustard, red chilli, udad dal and chana dal.
Add curry leaves and all chopped veggies .
Now add peanuts and cook for 3 mits.
Add salt and mix well.
Drain water and add sago to the cooked veggies.
Mix well and garnish with cilantro.
Do not cook for more than 2 mits after adding sago.

Method for powder:

Add salt, chilli powder and garlic to daliya and make a powder in mixer.
Serve this powder with the sago upma.
All this method takes exactly 14 mits to prepare and serves 2 people.
This upma tastes well with mango pickle.

A quick one indeed.
Does not sago become gummy instead of being seperate perals, if you soak overnight?
